CAL continues to secure the reversal of unauthorized fees for its clients
CAL recognizes that unlawfully imposed fees can be an unfair burden on our clients whether they are incarcerated or not. With the resumption of the Appellate Division and Appellate Term’s Fall Terms, those courts have repeatedly granted our requests to strike those unlawfully imposed fees, including for our clients Abdourahman C, Jerome D, Moniyah T, and Aucensio N. While all CAL attorneys and staff are vigilant in detecting and remedying unlawful fee collections, this group of clients was represented by Beth Caldwell, David Klem, & Shaina Watrous.
